Bill Johnson (ET) and Marv Clamp (RM)

Bobby Poole (RM) and mini-remoteless soapbox
derby entries in Comm bldg hallway.

 Early 1964.
This could well have been the commissioning ceremonies.

Early 1964. LCDR Waterloo and crew.

Awards ceremony held in the galley.
Jim Labor (RM).

Awards ceremony held in the galley.
Don't recall his name but he was a SN/non-striker,
was one of our van drivers.

Awards ceremony held in the galley.
Could this have been "Doc Hardin"?

Pers inspection held in the galley.

 ?? (ET), my very good
friends Jeannie & Tom Blunk (RM).

 The Lybster Hill Gulley Whompers.
Ray Travis (RM) as our manager,
Marv Clamp (RM) rythmn/lead guitar as "The Honorable Mr. Nub",
Fred (??) (RM) 5-string banjo as "Butterfingers Freddie",
Nancy (Robinson) Fogo(local lass) lead singer/rythmn guitar as "Miss Bula" and
Joe Kunkel (RM) rythmn guitar as "Ole Mr. Joe Twitch"
Ole Fred could sure make that 5-string banjo sing.
And, Joe got his nickname because everytime he sat down with the guitar (and he played Chet Atkins style), he would develop random twitching in his facial expressions.

'The Saints', first Yank bee-boop/rock group in Thurso.
We concentrated on the 40's/50's era music with an occasional C&W tune tossed in.
Mike Dennis (RM), Jim labor (RM), Marv Clamp (RM) and Dennis West (RM).
The formation of our group created some controversy in the com dept,
and on the entire base for that matter, in that we had to placed in the same watch section so as to be able to meet our community involvement engagements.
Our very first showing was at the Town Hall in Thurso. We didn't even have instruments? Except for Mike Dennis who had his own guitar and amplifier. One of the local rock groups 'loaned' us their instruments, drums and all, so we could practice and perform.
This was our last dance held at the Dale House just outside of  Thurso. I think this would have been in the fall of 1965?

Tracey Riff's retirement party. LT Driscoll, Tracey Riff (RM)
and Steve Kramer (RM) held at Club Aeolus in 1976 I think it was.

The NRS photo's have a lot of faces, but I can only recall names to about half of them.
Let's have a contest to see who can name them all?
Especially the NRS1stCrew1 photo and the Awards ceremony photo's.
There's some faces there that I can't put names to.
Have some fun with these Steve.
