VolleyBall Association of San Diego

General Rules
1) Lets all have fun !!
2) We are guest here at Clairemont High School. Please keep food and drinks off the court. Water is OK.
3) League play is on the Honor system. All disputed calls are to be played over !
4) Team Captains are responsible for recording the score on the score sheet. Missing scores will be listed as losses for both teams.
5)

In between each court is a neutral zone, which may be used to recover hits. Once the ball travels into the next court, the ball is dead and the point or service change is made. A player may not step on the next court's boundary line or into the next court. Because there is a chance for an accident to occur, players that enter another court will be warned first. A player entering the court continually will not be able to continue play for that match. Safety is most important.
LEAGUE RULES

1) Games are played to 15 points, winning by 2 points, or first to 17, with the best two out of three games deciding the match. There is a time limit. If the match is in its third game and time is called, the team leading game three at that point wins the match. If the score is tied, 5 points will be play using "Rally Scoring".
2) You may not go under the net at any time.
3) Players may serve from anywhere behind the back line. It is a foot fault if the line is contacted before striking the ball. Jump serves are allowed up to 3 jump serves then you must float (standing) serve thereafter.

7) The ball is live if the ball hits either the ceiling or light fixtures on the 1st and 2nd hit and remains on your side of the court. However, the ball cannot hit these items when the ball travels over the net. If it does, the point or serve goes to the other team.
8) If the center basket rim/fixture interferes with a set (hand set or bump set), replay the point
9) During play, a ball hitting a basketball rim, backboard, or structural support is playable on the 1st and 2nd hit (except on the serve). One replay is allowed on the serve..
